In an ambitious declaration, Jackson Silavwe, president of the Golden Party Zambia (GPZ), has laid out a transformative plan aimed at dismantling shanty compounds and establishing a comprehensive home ownership initiative if he is elected as President.

As a key figure in the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA), Silavwe envisions a “developed and dignified Zambia,” where all citizens, across the ten provinces, can access quality housing and essential services.

“Our vision is clear: we are dedicated to launching a strong home ownership programme that spans our entire nation,” Silavwe proclaimed.

He outlined that this initiative would focus on the creation of thoughtfully designed cities and residential areas, complete with vital infrastructure, including clean water access, sewage systems, and designated industrial zones.

“This is an ambitious yet achievable national strategy,” Silavwe emphasized. “Home ownership should be a fundamental right for every Zambian, not just a privilege for the affluent.”

Highlighting inclusivity, Silavwe assured that the programme would accommodate all citizens, irrespective of their educational background or financial status. He pointed out that ensuring access to adequate housing is crucial for alleviating poverty and stimulating economy.
