Government Unveils Draft Constitution Amendment Bill 2025

The Zambian Government has officially shared the Draft Constitution Amendment Bill 2025, which is an important move in the process of changing the constitution.

Justice Minister Princess Kasune stated that the release fits with the national plan and encouraged civil society groups, constitutional lawyers, and everyone else to think carefully about the document. She asked for fair and helpful feedback to help create a constitution that will last for a long time.

Kasune stressed that the goal should not just be to point out problems, but to suggest ways to make the draft better. She mentioned that the government welcomes suggestions and is dedicated to improving the constitution to fill current legal gaps.
