The Secretary of Isoka Town Council, Brian Musonda, has warned people who received loans from the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) to pay back their loans or they could face legal action.

Mr. Musonda gave this warning during a meeting where all loan recipients from 2022 to 2024 were called together to discuss how the loans were being paid back and to talk about issues with those who haven’t complied.

“This is public money, not a gift. It must be repaid,” Mr. Musonda stated.

He also mentioned that several individuals and groups have not been paying back their loans, which he said could endanger the future of the empowerment program.

In addition, Morgan Chileshe, the Branch Manager of Access Bank, encouraged loan recipients to make the most of the five percent interest rate on the CDF loans, calling it an opportunity that should not be ignored.
