The Red Arrows Women’s Club player recognized the strength of their Group A rivals—Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo—pointing out that both teams have strong lineups with quick and skilled players.
As she prepares for her third WAFCON, the seasoned defender shares that her personal aim is to be a reliable team member and to keep the goal safe throughout the tournament.
On the other hand, Copper Queens striker Rachael KundananJi shared her excitement about returning to WAFCON, which will be her second time since 2018.
KundananJi, who scored in her first WAFCON tournament, mentioned that she is eager to help the team reach its goals this year.
She made these comments during the launch of the new CAF WAFCON trophy in Morocco.
Malawi Women’s National Team Captain, Tabitha Chawinga, who was invited by CAF as a special guest at this year’s WAFCON, expressed her belief that a team from the Southern African region will win the tournament.
Chawinga stated that either the defending champions South Africa or Zambia has the potential to win, as long as they progress past the group stage.
