Journalist Faith Musonda has said she is not guilty of being an idle and disorderly person.
Ms. Musonda, who calls herself a housewife, went to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court this morning and made her plea in front of Principal Resident Magistrate Irene Wishimanga.
She was given bail set at 100,000 kwacha cash with two working sureties, after her defense lawyer, Charles Changano, made the request.
Mr. Changano told the court that Ms. Musonda, who is 41 years old and lives in Chalala, Lusaka, has a permanent home and will be present for her trial.
However, Magistrate Wishimanga decided that Ms. Musonda will stay in custody until all bail conditions are completely fulfilled.
The court has scheduled the trial to start on July 21, 2025.
The charge comes from an event that supposedly happened at Community House, where President Hakainde Hichilema lives, during the early hours of July 1, 2025.
Ms. Musonda is accused of acting in a disorderly way at that location between 00:30 and 01:00 hours.
During this event, she was said to be driving a Toyota Fortuner with the registration number BBA 8874.
