Over 100 school health teachers were commissioned at Munkuye Primary School in Nkeyema District, a tremendous milestone towards improving learner well-being and learning outcomes.
Nkeyema District Commissioner Ellis Mukubesa has described that the health teachers would greatly help improve the level of education and improve pupil progress.
His words were conveyed by Nkeyema Town Council Chairperson Rayford Chitoti.
Mr. Mukubesa highlighted the government’s commitment towards having healthier students in schools across the country. He called upon the Ministries of Education and Health and communities to have closer collaboration to facilitate the program to go on.
He also called upon stakeholders to maintain the community-based supply chain for staple commodities and have school health rooms during school hours to provide timely services to students.
