A SEVEN-MONTH-OLD BABY WAS KIDNAPPED IN MISISI COMPOUND
The police have started a search for a woman who is accused of taking a seven-month-old baby boy in Lusaka’s Misisi Compound. This incident has really shocked the local community.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said that the event happened on Saturday, May 24, around 6:00 PM.
Initial investigations show that the baby was being looked after by his nine-year-old cousin when the suspect came up to them. The woman told the girl to go get someone else, saying she would take care of the baby while she was gone. When the girl came back, both the woman and the baby were gone.
The baby’s 19-year-old mother reported the situation to the Misisi Police Post that same evening. Since then, the authorities have started a complete investigation to find the suspect and safely bring back the missing child.
Mr. Chilabi told ZNBC News that the police are following all possible leads and are working hard to catch the person responsible.
The Zambia Police Service has asked anyone who knows something that could help the investigation to come forward and report it to the nearest police station.
