ABSA Marathon 2025 to Empower More Than 5,000 Girls Through Fundraising Run

Mizinga Melu, the Managing Director of ABSA Bank, praised the partners and sponsors for their support of the 2025 ABSA Marathon.

During a press conference at the Lusaka Showgrounds, Ms. Melu mentioned that the marathon, set for September 6, aims to gather funds to assist the girl child.

She also noted that the preparations have been going well, with athletes from 18 different countries expected to take part.

In addition, Marc Nosbach, the National Director of World Vision Zambia, mentioned that the initiative aims to reach over 5,000 girls through the campaign, which focuses on providing reusable sanitary products and enhancing education and dignity for girls in rural areas.

Katai Chola, the President of Lusaka Fitness Squad, referred to the marathon as a national event that will have a positive impact on the local economy and promote wellness in the community.
