Eni Aluko has decided not to host the Women’s Football Awards this week after she criticized Ian Wright.

Aluko, who used to play for England, said that there are limited chances for women to be pundits in football. Even though she apologized, Wright was still upset and said he couldn’t accept her apology.

Aluko doesn’t want to take attention away from the nominees at the awards, which will be held in London on May 1. She said she wants the focus to be on the players and everyone who has worked hard for women’s football.

Wright, who has been a supporter of women’s football, received a lot of likes on his response to Aluko’s comments, including from some England players. He believes that everyone needs to work together to improve the challenges that women’s football faces.
