In a recent development, US R&B singer Chris Brown found himself in legal trouble in the United Kingdom, linked to an alleged bottle attack that transpired at a London nightclub earlier this year.

On Thursday, May 15, at approximately 2:00 AM, authorities apprehended the 36-year-old artist at a hotel in Manchester. He is under suspicion for causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw. Reports indicate that the incident occurred at Tape nightclub in Mayfair on February 19, 2023.

A representative from the Metropolitan Police shared that the arrest stemmed from information regarding Brown’s presence in the UK. “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm,” the spokesperson explained. “He has been taken into custody where he remains. The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

According to British tabloid The Sun, the publication alerted the police after confirming Brown’s arrival in the UK via private jet, prompting officers to travel to Manchester for the arrest.

In a statement to The Sun earlier this year, Mr. Diaw accused Brown of striking him over the head with a bottle, subsequently continuing to punch and kick him while he was on the ground. He reported that the attack resulted in a collapsed knee, necessitating hospitalization and the use of crutches post-discharge.

Chris Brown, celebrated for his chart-topping hits such as “Beautiful People,” “No Air,” “Run It,” and “Under The Influence,” gained prominence in the mid-2000s. He is currently on tour, with performances scheduled across several venues in the UK during June and July.
