“We aim to assist you in achieving your mining objectives and addressing your priorities,” stated Czech Republic Deputy Prime Minister Marian Jurecka.
The Czech government has pledged a generous donation of K7.2 million to Zambia for the acquisition of geological survey equipment.
During a courtesy visit to Minister of Mines Paul Kabuswe’s office in Lusaka, Deputy Prime Minister Jurecka emphasized that this donation will enhance Zambia’s capabilities in geoscientific research, mineral analysis, and exploration support services.
Kabuswe expressed gratitude for the Czech government’s contribution, noting that it aligns perfectly with Zambia’s national agenda aimed at strengthening geological data, which is crucial for informed investment decisions and effective policy development in the mining sector.
“This funding will allow us to enhance our geological survey capabilities, which will consequently attract increased investment in the mining sector,” Kabuswe remarked.
He also voiced optimism that the collaboration between Zambia and the Czech Republic will foster greater investments and economic growth within the country.
“We believe that the Czech Republic’s expertise in mining technology will greatly benefit Zambia, and we are eager to learn from their experience,” Kabuswe added.
He acknowledged the long-standing relationship between Czechia and Zambia, expressing appreciation for continued support from the Czech government.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Jurecka reaffirmed his government’s commitment to aiding Zambia in achieving its development objectives.
“We have observed significant improvements in government operations, and we are confident that our partnership will further contribute to Zambia’s economic advancement,” Jurecka stated.
He mentioned that Czech businesses recently engaged with Zambia and plan to strengthen those ties moving forward.
“We are keen to enhance cooperation in mining, focusing on quality and excellence within Zambia. The Czech Republic possesses extensive expertise in both surface and deep mining, and our companies are interested in collaborating with not only the Ministry of Mines but also with private sector stakeholders,” Jurecka elaborated.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted a European agency’s interest in partnering with the Ministry of Mines.
