ERB Lowers Fuel Prices for July 2025

The Energy Regulation Board, known as ERB, has lowered the prices for petrol, diesel, kerosene, and Jet A-1 fuel for July 2025.

The price of petrol has dropped from K31.36 to K28.00, and diesel has gone down from K25.12 to K23.13 per litre.

Kerosene is now priced at K21.98 per litre, while Jet A-1 fuel costs K23.94.

JAMES BANDA, the Chairperson of the ERB Board, explained that the drop in fuel prices is due to the Kwacha gaining value against the US dollar by 11.20 percent.

Mr. BANDA shared with ZNBC News that the TAZAMA Open Access initiative, which started in April 2025, has shown good results, including lower diesel premiums.

He also mentioned that thanks to Tanzania’s bulk procurement system, the petrol premium has decreased by 20.33 percent, going from 157.50 US dollars per metric tonne to 125.48 US dollars per metric tonne.
The new prices will start at midnight.

In the meantime, many drivers are happy about the lower fuel prices.

People in the community have praised the Government for its energy policies, saying they are starting to show positive results.
