Five Candidates Show Interest in the Mfuwe Parliamentary Race.

The nomination process for the Mfuwe Parliamentary by-election in Lavushimanda District has begun.

Mfuwe Constituency Returning Officer Gilbert Mwango announced that the nomination center officially opened at exactly 09:00 hours today.

According to the nomination list from the Electoral Commission of Zambia, which was obtained by ZNBC, four political parties and one independent candidate have shown interest in running for the seat.

The political parties include the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND), New Congress Party (NCP), Socialist Party, and Leadership Movement.

ZNBC’S Memory Bbuku reports that so far Mr. Brian Kunda from the National Congress Party (NCP) has successfully submitted his nominations after another candidate from the same party, Newton Nguni, was unable to file his due to arriving late.
