Iran says No to new nuclear talks amid ongoing attack

Iran has announced that it will not take part in any new discussions about its nuclear program while it is still facing military attacks, which increases tensions with Israel and the United States.

This announcement was made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi after important talks with European diplomats in Geneva, where he was asked to reopen talks with Washington. However, Araghchi clearly stated that Tehran would only think about diplomatic talks once the Israeli military actions stop.

“I want to make it very clear that Iran’s defense abilities are not up for negotiation,” said Araghchi. “We are open to diplomacy, but only after this aggression ends.”

The situation is tense as Israeli Defence Minister Eyal Zamir indicated that a long conflict is likely, calling the current fighting with Iran a “long campaign” and warning of “tough days ahead.”

Recently, the Israeli military carried out new airstrikes aimed at Iranian missile storage and launch sites. These attacks came after Iran fired missiles at central Israel. There were reports of explosions near Tel Aviv, with debris reportedly causing a fire in a building in the city’s center.

Araghchi insisted that Iran’s nuclear activities are peaceful and accused Israel of breaking international law. He repeated Tehran’s position that it will keep exercising its right to self-defense.

At the same time, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations accused Tehran of having a “genocidal agenda,” promising that Israel will continue to target Iranian nuclear facilities until they are “completely destroyed.”

US President Donald Trump added to the pressure, saying that Iran has a maximum of two weeks to avoid potential American airstrikes. “I’m giving them a time frame, and I would say two weeks would be the maximum,” he stated, mentioning that a decision could be made even sooner.
