As James Chamanga prepares to retire at the age of 44 after an extraordinary 25-year career, I want to take a moment to offer my heartfelt congratulations.

Chamanga’s journey has been a testament to discipline, dedication, and perseverance, inspiring countless aspiring footballers along the way. His remarkable athleticism, stature, and relentless work ethic have established him as a formidable presence on the field.

Additionally, Chamanga has consistently shown respect, kindness, and a deep passion for the game. Zambia has truly been fortunate to have such a player, who has always prioritized the team above all else.

One of my favorite memories is Chamanga’s unforgettable performance during our AFCON 2006 qualifying campaign. He seized the moment, made a significant impact, and achieved remarkable success.

His goal in the opening match against Tunisia stands out as a highlight of his career. As Chamanga embarks on this new chapter, I sincerely hope he continues to engage with the sport, sharing his invaluable knowledge and experience with the next generation of players.
