Mbeumo finally makes his move to Man Utd

BBC- Bryan Mbeumo’s long transfer from Brentford to Manchester United was finally finished on Monday, seven weeks after the Old Trafford team made their first offer.

The 25-year-old forward from Cameroon was introduced as the club’s third signing of the summer, following fellow forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon, who were signed for an initial fee of £65m with up to £6m in extras.

United made their first bid for Mbeumo, which was worth a total of £55m, at the beginning of June.

They had a second bid of £62.5m that didn’t work out at the end of that month before they came to an agreement with their third offer.

Mbeumo scored 70 goals and made 51 assists in 242 games for Brentford since he joined in 2019 from Troyes.

He scored 20 goals and made seven assists in the Premier League last season – both were his best ever numbers.
