Vice President Mutale Nalumango has launched new national policies, a strategic plan, and a service delivery charter aimed at improving how services are delivered and increasing government transparency.
During the launch, Mrs. Nalumango shared that these updated policies target current national challenges and encourage professionalism and dedication within the public service.
She explained that the revised Disaster Risk Management Policy aims to boost national preparedness and resilience against disasters. Additionally, the Resettlement Policy seeks to enhance the quality of life and productivity in designated resettlement areas.
The Vice President also pointed out the Honours and Awards Policy, which will increase transparency and accountability in granting national awards.
Energy Minister Makozo Chikote, who spoke at the event, stressed that effective service delivery relies on strong, clearly communicated policy frameworks. He called for the widespread sharing of these revised policies to ensure all citizens are informed and can benefit from them.
Secretary to Cabinet Patrick Kangwa, represented by Acting Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Mutinta Musonda, described the launch as a critical step in Zambia’s ongoing public service reform efforts.
