The President of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has opened two new roads in Lusaka, Zambia, named after Namibia’s late leaders, Dr. Hage Geingob and Dr. Sam Nujoma.

Sadzu Road is now named after Dr. Geingob, while Kasama Road honors Dr. Nujoma. This event celebrated the important legacies of these leaders and helped strengthen the friendship between Zambia and Namibia.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah mentioned that the new names are a tribute to the significant roles both leaders played in their country’s history and in the region.

She also said that this renaming shows the strong bond between Zambia and Namibia. Lusaka’s Mayor, Ms. Chilando Chitangala, thanked the Namibian President for her efforts to improve relations between the two nations.

She pointed out that the renaming reflects a true friendship. The ceremony included planting trees on both roads, led by President Nandi-Ndaitwah, to honor the two late Presidents of Namibia. Many important officials were present at the event.
