No Segregation in Sports Support – HH
President Hakainde Hichilema has made it clear that his commitment to supporting all athletes will be inclusive, with no room for segregation. He emphasized that sportsmen and women play a crucial role in the government’s development agenda and that his administration will provide the necessary support to help them succeed.
During an event at State House, the president welcomed a group of athletes from the Strongman Association of Zambia, who were presented with a generous donation of a motor vehicle from EVC Investment. This donation included an electric vehicle valued at 250,000 kwacha, awarded to Strongman world champion Paul Mwanza.
EVC Investment’s Chief Executive Officer, Xing Mo, expressed his hopes that this investment would inspire more young people to excel in competitions, extending beyond just Strongman Zambia. He is optimistic that such initiatives will yield significant benefits for everyday Zambians.
Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu shared that the government’s no-minor-sport policy is proving effective, allowing his Ministry to manage all sports disciplines efficiently. He noted that the supportive environment created for the private sector has attracted more sponsors to back sports initiatives.
Meanwhile, Patterson Muzondiwa, President of the Strongman Association of Zambia, praised the government’s support, which has enabled the association to reach all corners of the continent and bring pride to Zambia.
Sports Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe highlighted that no sport has been overlooked, as evidenced by the impressive performances of champions like Paul Mwanza.
Mwanza himself stated that this donation serves as a motivation for him to secure even more titles this year.
