Police Capture Eight Suspects in Fuel Attendant Murder Case

In a significant development, police have arrested eight individuals linked to the tragic murder of Sibesu Akalilwa, a fuel attendant at the Rubis Filling Station located in the Hellen Kaunda area of Lusaka.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga revealed that among those detained are two security guards who were scheduled to work the night of the incident but were mysteriously absent when the crime unfolded.

Hamoonga noted that these arrests were made possible thanks to the swift and thorough investigations conducted by the Anti-Robbery Squad.

Additionally, efforts are currently underway to recover weapons, clothing, and other items thought to have been used during the robbery and murder. Hamoonga emphasized that these items will be crucial in forming a solid case for prosecution.

The aggravated robbery and murder took place on July 17, 2025, at approximately 3:00 AM at the Rubis Filling Station in Hellen Kaunda.
