Sikongo town council celebrate 94 completed CDF project

Sikongo Town Council proudly announced the completion of 94 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects during a special ceremony at Sitapa Primary School in Liumena Ward.

The event was led by District Commissioner Henry mwalye Imbuwa, and it gathered local leaders, community members, and important stakeholders to honor what many are calling a major achievement for the district.

The projects that were commissioned cover important areas and include:

New classroom blocks built in several schools to improve learning facilities;
Desks provided to all schools in the district, enhancing the learning environment for students;
Boreholes and water systems designed to tackle water and sanitation issues;
Health posts, maternity wings, and shelters for mothers, which will help provide essential healthcare services.

During the ceremony, DC Imbuwa praised the government’s commitment to rural development and encouraged the local community to take charge of the projects to ensure they last and make a difference.

“These projects are more than just buildings—they symbolize hope, opportunity, and progress for the people of Sikongo. It is now our duty as a community to protect and maintain them,” he stated.

Community members shared their heartfelt thanks, mentioning that these improvements will significantly enhance their daily lives, particularly in health, education, and access to clean water.
