The Swedish Embassy is being blamed for causing problems in the Zambian media during the World Press Freedom Day celebrations.
The Media Liaison Committee (MLC) says that the embassy is creating confusion. This year, instead of one big march, there were two separate marches in Lusaka.
One was organized by the MLC and Zambian media groups, while the other was supported by the Swedish Embassy and involved freelance journalists.
This second group disagreed with the idea of self-regulation for the media, which is something that Zambian journalists had previously agreed upon.
The MLC is worried that the Swedish Embassy is causing division by opposing a bill that was created by journalists to help regulate themselves.
They were also concerned about the Swedish Ambassador being present at the other event.
