The 2025 Fashion Sakala Eastern Province tournament to be play on this weekend.
The organizing committees for both the men’s and women’s tournaments are urging the participating teams to maintain discipline and refrain from fielding ineligible players.
During a media briefing today, Moses Zulu, Chairperson for the men’s tournament, along with Alex Nawa, Vice Chairperson for the women’s tournament, reminded teams to honor their match schedules.
In the women’s tournament, the fixtures include Chadiza Council Queens hosting Eastern Queens, Rural Sports Academy welcoming Mfuwe Mags Queens, and Valley Queens traveling to face Katete Queens.
In another matchup, Mambwe Council Queens will take on Nyamphande Kum’mawa Girls, while LPS Kawele battles Chadiza Police Queens.
As for the men’s tournament, 27 teams have advanced to the second round. Moses Zulu, the organizing committee chairperson, announced that three best losers have also been selected, bringing the total to 30 teams.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, Real Mpezeni will go head-to-head with Young Mfuwe Resource. Meanwhile, South Luangwa will challenge the defending champions, Young Nkwazi, and Nyamphande Kum’mawa will host Lunyike Stars.
FM Travellers are set to compete against Black Tigers, Police Bullets will test their skills against Petauke United, and Luembe United will welcome Nyimba Council while Kafumbwe United takes on BB Kabvuma.
On Sunday, May 11, 2025, Mimbulu Soccer Academy will face off against Ben FC, and Prison Leopards will play against Sinda United.
Additionally, Mtenguleni United will clash with Katete Rangers, Kafunkha United will go against Smiling Kids, and Mika FC will take on Mugaba Red Lions.
Lastly, Chataika FC will compete with Chipata City Council, Chiefs United will face Msandile United, and Young Fighters will square off against Panzer FC.
