Treasury Secretary Felix Nkulukusa mentioned that they expect a decrease in USAID funding, and they should hear back from the US government today.
During a town hall meeting about the national budget and the economy’s performance in the first quarter, Nkulukusa explained that talks with US officials have suggested that support might be reduced.
“The US government provides us with around $600 million each year. Of that amount, about $450 million is used for health services.
With changes in US foreign policy, we think we might need to adjust our plans. We believe that on the 19th, they will inform us of their decision.”
