The US needs to stop any more attacks on Iran if it wants to start talking again- Iran
Majid Takht-Ravanchi mentioned that the Trump administration has communicated through mediators that they want to go back to negotiations, but they haven’t clearly stated their stance on the important issue of more attacks while discussions are happening.
Israel’s military actions, which started early on June 13, disrupted a sixth round of mostly indirect talks that were supposed to happen in Muscat two days later.
Last weekend, the US got directly involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran by targeting three Iranian nuclear sites in a bombing raid.
Takht-Ravanchi also stated that Iran will insist on its right to enrich uranium for what it claims are peaceful purposes, denying allegations that Iran is secretly trying to develop a nuclear bomb.
He explained that Iran has been denied access to nuclear materials for its research program, so they need to depend on their own resources.
“We can talk about the level of enrichment and the capacity, but saying that we should have no enrichment at all, and if we don’t agree, you will bomb us – that’s just not fair,” the deputy foreign minister said.
