Zambia Defeated Senegal in an Exciting WAFCON Match

Barbara Banda scored two goals as Zambia narrowly beat Senegal 3-2, improving their chances to move on to the knockout stage of the WAFCON tournament.

The Copper Queens fell behind early when Nguenar Ndiaye scored for Senegal in the 5th minute, but Zambia fought back to win the game.

Captain Barbara Banda equalized for Zambia in the 12th minute.

The first half ended in a tie at 1-1, but the Copper Queens came out strong in the second half, making up for earlier missed chances.

Zambia took the lead in the 51st minute with a strong shot from KundananJi, making the score 2-1.

During the second half, Copper Queens coach Nora Hauptle received a yellow card for trying to watch the referee’s VAR review.

Banda increased Zambia’s lead in the 73rd minute, scoring her third goal of the tournament and bringing the score to 3-1.

Senegal got a penalty in the 76th minute after goalkeeper Ngambo Musole, who also got a yellow card, fouled Ngueral Ndiaye.

Ndiaye scored from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, marking her second goal of the match and cutting the score to 3-2.

That was the final score, and now Zambia has four points from two matches in the ongoing tournament in Morocco.
