A key topic of discussion is housing, with the Assembly stressing the need for inclusive conversations and strong actions to ensure everyone has access to adequate housing.

The Assembly also emphasizes the role of multi-level governance in supporting sustainable human settlements and development that puts people first. It serves as a platform for countries to enhance local governance and tackle urbanization issues.

While speaking from Nairobi, Minister Milupi confirmed Zambia’s commitment to following the New Urban Agenda and achieving Sustainable Development Goal No. 11, which aims to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

“Zambia is dedicated to improving informal settlements and providing better social services through international cooperation,” Minister Milupi said.
