Zambia Secures $3 Billion Investment MoUs

Zambia has made agreements called Memoranda of Understanding, or MoUs, that are worth three billion US dollars with investors after the successful three-day Invest Zambia International Conference that just ended.

President Hakainde Hichilema mentioned that the conference brought together 1,300 participants from all over the world, which he said is important for helping Zambia’s economic growth plans.

The President’s comments were shared by Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati during the Presidential Gala Awards that took place at the end of the conference on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Albert Halyampa, the Director General of the Zambia Development Agency, said he was happy that the event led to investment deals and MoUs totaling three billion dollars.

On another note, Godwin Beene, the Country Manager for First Quantum Minerals, pointed out that his company has been operating in Zambia for thirty years, showing that private sector investment can be successful in the country.

At the Gala, Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane, who was not there, was named Zambia’s 2025 Minister of the Year.

In the corporate awards, United Capital Fertilizer won both the 2025 Investor of the Year and Best Exporter Awards.

Trade Kings received the Best Manufacturer award, and other companies and small businesses were also recognized in their categories.
