Zambia is urging the world to step up its efforts in funding for development as we aim to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Dr. Chola Milambo, Zambia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, mentioned that developing countries still struggle with significant gaps in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
Dr. Milambo spoke before the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, which starts today in Seville, Spain.
He also pointed out that Zambia’s involvement in the conference supports President Hakainde Hichilema’s goal for affordable and inclusive financing options that help developing nations.
Zambia, along with Mexico, Nepal, and Norway, has been instrumental in creating the outcome document, making sure that the needs of the Global South are included.
Additionally, Zambia’s team at the conference will be led by Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe.
This information comes from a statement released to ZNBC News by Naomi Mweemba, the First Secretary Press at Zambia’s Mission in France.
