Zambia’s Investment Conference Generates Excitement in Energy & Transport

Many companies are showing interest in putting money into Zambia’s energy, health, and transport sectors after the successful first Invest Zambia International Conference 2025.

One of the interested investors is Global Gases Group. Their Managing Director, Deepak Mehta, shared a big plan to build infrastructure for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), large-scale biogas and biomethane production, and liquid medical oxygen.

Mr. Mehta mentioned that the goal is to boost LPG use in Zambia from under 3% to more than 50% in the next 5 to 7 years, while also ensuring hospitals have access to medical oxygen—with hopes of exporting to other Southern African nations.

At the same time, EVC Investments Limited, a leader in energy technology and eco-business, revealed its detailed plan to change Zambia’s transportation system.

Zhang Jiang, President of the Zambia Chinese Association, stated that the company intends to bring in New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and combined solutions by using China’s knowledge in renewable energy and NEV advancements.

These plans were discussed during meetings with Commerce Minister Chipoka Mulenga in Lusaka.

Minister Mulenga promised the investors that the government would support the creation of charging stations and vehicle assembly plants, highlighting advantages like local production, job creation, and technology sharing.

He stressed the government’s dedication to creating a supportive environment for investment and confirmed Zambia’s status as a prime location for global business partnerships.
