ZEMA Gives the Green Light to More Than 115 Development Projects Worth $627 Million
The Zambia Environmental Management Agency, or ZEMA, has said yes to building a regional medical warehouse for the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) in Kabwe, which is in Central Province.
This project is part of 115 development projects that together are worth over 627 million U.S. dollars.
ZEMA has also approved plans to upgrade Mansa Airport, which will cost more than 739 million Kwacha.
Ruth Kamwi, the Corporate Affairs Manager at ZEMA, mentioned that these approvals were made during the 33rd Environmental Assessment Committee meeting of the Board of Directors.
The projects that got the green light cover many areas, such as mining, mineral processing, infrastructure development, manufacturing, and processing.
Other areas that will benefit from these approvals include energy, agriculture, forestry, and tourism.
