ZESCO United player Alex Ngonga is accused of intimidation after a road accident in Kitwe.
A traffic dispute involving Zesco United striker Alex Ngonga and Shikai Enterprises Limited from Lusaka has caused a stir after an accident near Nissos Filling Station at Nakadoli junction on the Kitwe-Chingola Road.
The accident happened around 6:50 PM yesterday and reportedly involved Ngonga’s car and a vehicle from Shikai Enterprises.
Bright Chongo, a representative from the company, claims that Ngonga used his fame to intimidate their employees by taking their car.
Chongo says Ngonga first told them to follow him to talk about the issue, but when they got to a lodge in Kitwe where the Zesco United team was staying, Ngonga changed his mind.
He also mentioned that the footballer blocked their car with his own and wouldn’t let them go, even though they tried to resolve things peacefully. The vehicle was on its way to deliver detergents to a client in Chililabombwe at that time.
In a phone call with a reporter from Mafken FM, Ngonga rejected the company’s story and criticized their choice to go to the media.
He warned that if the story was published, he would take legal action against the station and the reporter, insisting that this issue is personal.
Meanwhile, Stephen Kaisa, the Director of Shikai Enterprises Limited, expressed concern about how the incident and the player’s behavior have impacted their business operations.
