Jensen Huang, who ranks as the tenth richest person worldwide, has teamed up with Strive Masiyiwa, Zimbabwe’s richest man, to create an Artificial Intelligence (AI) factory in Africa, marking a significant first.

Jensen Huang and Strive Masiyiwa are working together to set up Africa’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) factory.
The factory will utilize Nvidia’s cutting-edge GPUs, with the first installations taking place in South Africa.
Cassava Technologies aims to broaden GPU distribution across important African nations, such as Kenya and Nigeria.

Through the efforts of both billionaires’ companies, Masiyiwa’s Cassava Technologies and Huang’s Nvidia, one of the largest companies in America by valuation, the construction of Africa’s first AI factory is now underway.

At present, graphics processing units (GPUs) have been sent to South Africa, which is the first location in Africa to receive these units.

What Strive Masiyiwa said about the AI factory:

“Working with Nvidia provides us with the advanced computing power necessary to propel Africa’s AI advancements while enhancing the continent’s digital self-sufficiency,” Masiyiwa stated.
